Not surprisingly, significant financial resources are needed to plan, organise, promote, and conduct such an event.
To give your donation with confidence, we recognise that it is important to know exactly how the funds are used and who is responsible for them. The following information has been prepared to help answer those questions. How the funds will be usedA World Congress is a costly investment. Expenditures will be incurred throughout the three years of planning prior to the Congress, during the ten days in Cape Town, and during the one year of follow-up activities.How the funds will be managedLausanne III: Cape Town 2010 has been incorporated as a nonprofit trust in South Africa. The umbrella organisation, The Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization (LCWE), is incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in the USA. In all cases, the Congress will issue receipts, but, in some countries, special income tax receipts may be applicable.The Congress will be organised and managed by a World Committee which will in turn be governed by the LCWE. The Committee will ensure fiscal control in three ways. First, the Committee bears full responsibility to raise all funds required to defray the costs invested in the Congress. Second, it will provide opportunities for individuals and churches to support the Congress through financial contributions. Third, the Committee has taken steps to ensure that the funds are handled according to the highest ethical standards. The Committee has engaged South African and US accounting firms to review financial procedures and Congress expenditures. The firms will also conduct an audit after the Congress. The Committee will review the audit and have it published. How to join usA ministry of this magnitude depends upon the prayers and financial involvement of thousands of committed people. For all of us, it provides a wonderful opportunity to impact the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Contributions can be made by cheque or credit card.
