Debriefing Cape Town 2010: Your "God Moments"

What are “God Moments?” Simply put, they are those moments in your life when God shows up in a powerful way and makes His presence known through the circumstances and events in your day.

We all have these moments in our life that show us God’s power, His love, and His sovereignty. And it seems like we have more of these moments when we journey outside of our daily routines and enter into unknown circumstances and situations. After all, we spend most of our life trying to control our surroundings and, without realizing it, keep the “God Moments” at a minimum because of how disruptive they can be.

But what would life be like without those moments? We would feel so disconnected from the Lord of the Universe and our lives would feel small indeed. That is why it is a great blessing when these special events take place and we can see God at work in our lives so tangibly.

Why do I bring this up? Simply put, on your adventure with Cape Town 2010 this Fall, I’m sure there were some “God Moments.” There were special times when God showed up and worked in a mighty way through a relationship, a trial, or maybe through a victory. Whatever the case, those moments can be very defining.

But that is only if those special moments are debriefed and remembered. Even the most amazing event can soon be lost in our quest for “what is next.” So let’s take a minute to debrief your “God Moments” that you experienced while attending Cape Town 2010, a GlobaLink event or while participating online.

Who have you told about your unique encounter with your Creator? How did they respond? What questions did they ask and how did those questions impact you?
How did that “God Moment” fit in with the lessons God is teaching you right now? Are there any key links that give you a better idea about what He wants you to learn as you grow?
How did your special moment impact someone else? Did you get to witness as a result? Did you get to show God’s love in a unique way?
What was your response to the event that took place? What can you learn from how you responded? How would you want to respond differently?

I pray that you will cherish those special moments with your Savior!
