Lausanne provides a place for strategic theological discussion on the major issues affecting the Body of Christ and global evangelization. Since 1974, leaders have come together under The Lausanne Covenant to debate and discuss issues ranging from ministering to specific ethnic groups to evangelism and social responsibility.

  • 2006 Younger Leaders Gathering Documents (12)

    Documents from the September 2006 Lausanne Younger Leaders Gathering (YLG-06) in Malaysia. YLG-06, which drew 550 young leaders from over 100 countries, was the second major meeting of young Christian leaders called by the Lausanne Movement to focus specifically on global evangelization. 

  • 2004 Forum Documents (9)
    The 2004 Forum for World Evangelization was held September 29 - October 5. It brought together more than 1,500 Christian leaders from around the world to focus on the task of global evangelism.

    Through a comprehensive world-wide research effort, thirty one specific issues were identified as roadblocks to evangelism and Issue Groups were formed around each issue. These Issue Groups each prepared a paper concerning their issue that includes a strategic action plan for addressing the concern.

  • Haslev 1997 Documents (10)

    From 17-21 June 1997, fifty two evangelical missiologists, theologians and mission practitioners from twenty countries met in Haslev, Denmark to consider the issue, “Gospel Contextualisation Revisited.” The following articles related to Haslev 1997 were printed in the Sept/Oct 1997 Issue of Lausanne's 'World Evangelization' Magazine.

  • ALCOE III (1992) Documents (3)

    The Third Asian Leadership Conference on Evangelism (ALCOE III) was held on November 23-28, 1992 in Bogar, Indonesia. The conference was a time of mutual fellowship, learning, and challenge to the one hundred and twenty delegates who came from thirteen different countries of the Asian continent.

    The international Congress on World Evangelization (also known as Lausanne II) was held in Manila, The Philippines in July 1989.

    Manila 1989 produced The Manila Manifesto, an elaboration of The Lausanne Covenant fifteen years later.

  • Singapore 1987 Documents (11)

    Recognizing the need to connect and energize young leaders around the world in the cause of world evangelization, the Lausanne Movement brought together nearly 300 young evangelical leaders from more than 60 nations for Singapore 87: A Conference of Young Leaders.

    The Thailand Statement was produced as a summary statement from the Consultation on World Evangelization (COWE), including a 12-point pledge made together by participants in the final meeting. 

    The COWE divided for five of its ten days into seventeen 'mini-consultations'. These focused on how to reach particular peoples for Christ. Each produced a report, which was published as a 'Lausanne Occasional Paper' (LOP). The major part of each report went through a draft and a revised draft, which involved all members of the mini-consultation. It was also submitted to a wider "sub-plenary" group for comment, but the responsibility for the final text rests with the mini-consultation and its chairman. The documents are highly valuable and informative report of the mini-consultations.

  • Lausanne 1974 Documents (1)

    The International Congress on World Evangelization was held in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1974.  The gathering was called by a committee headed by Rev. Billy Graham and drew more than 2,300 evangelical leaders, from 150 countries. The landmark Lausanne Covenant resulted from the gathering. A number of other official papers are also available from the following categories: Opening Convocation, Devotional Bible Studies, Plenary Papers and Responses, Public Meeting at Laustade, Evening Presentations, Evangelistic Strategy Papers and Reports, Theology of Evangelization Papers and Reports, Functional Reports, Functional Reports and the Closing Address.
