On behalf of the Cape Town 2010 Participant Selection Committee, we want to thank you for your interest in being invited to participate in Cape Town 2010: The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization.

We are committed to a recommendation and selection process that is guided by local and regional leaders.  It is our desire that the 4000 men and women who are chosen to attend the onsite Congress will reflect the composition of the evangelical church within their respective countries and offer a microcosm of the global evangelical church.  Therefore close interaction with local/regional leaders is crucial.

As you begin thinking about your involvement in Cape Town 2010, it’s important for you to know that all potential participants must be recommended before they can apply.

In order to apply, you must first obtain a personal/ministry recommendation from someone who knows you well.  You will not be allowed to recommend yourself as a participant.

Before proceeding in this process, please carefully read the Participant Qualifications.
The Process
The Congress participant selection process begins with recommendations and nominations made at each country and/or regional level.  Recommendations of potential Congress participants are being solicited from trusted local and regional leaders around the world.  In turn, country/regional selection committees are being established that will review these recommendations and then nominate potential Congress participants from their region.

These country/regional nominations will be submitted to an international Participant Selection Committee under the leadership of Bishop Hwa Yung of Malaysia.  This Committee will approve the final selection of the onsite Congress participants.

If you would like to recommend a potential participant, please use the online form to register as a Recommender and complete the online recommendation process.  Once the recommendation is submitted and approved, the potential participant will receive an email invitation to apply.

Completing an application does NOT guarantee an invitation to attend. Applicants who are nominated by the country/regional committees and approved by the international Participant Selection Committee will be informed and invited sometime after June 2009.
Staying Informed
We encourage you to subscribe to the monthly Lausanne Connecting Point ENewsletter, where information and updates about the Congress will be shared regularly.

In addition to onsite participants, Lausanne is making plans for leaders around the world to be involved in the Congress virtually through the internet and other technology.  Details of this virtual participation will be made available mid-2009.

Please pray with us that the Lord would continue to guide the participant selection process and the development of the virtual participation.

Thank you again for your interest in Lausanne and Cape Town 2010.  May the Lord bless and guide you in the coming weeks and months as you serve Him.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bishop Hwa Yung
