NO TRANSLATION AVAILABLE After serving in the Civil Service for a number of years Peter became Programme Director at the Bible Society working to Tom Houston who later became International Director of Lausanne. While there he was asked to start a new organisation called MARC Europe, sponsored by World Vision which after ten years became independent of World Vision and changed its name to Christian Research. Both under the Bible Society, MARC Europe and Christian Research Peter has been involved in a number of national church censuses, going to every church in the country and ask for details of attendance and other factors. These have allowed them to get an overall understanding of the church in that country at a particular moment in time and having done more than once in some countries to get trend figures which helps to understand more about the issues of church attendance. Peter retired from Christian Research in 2007, having led it from its inception in 1993, and has since set up "Brierley Consultancy" so that he can continue to work on all those areas that interest him as opportunity allows, including looking at the "big picture"!
