CHANGED LIVES IN THAILAND

Held in the grip of Buddhism, many of the Isaan people of north-eastern Thailand have never been introduced to the Gospel message. But through Christian radio, the Far East Broadcasting Company has been making inroads into the Isaan. Lives are being changed by the power of the Gospel heard through the airwaves, and over 4-thousand people have participated in their Bible correspondence course.

PRAISE & PRAYER

By Glenda Weldon, Chair, Intercession Working Group, LCWE

“Our firm decision is to work from the focused centre:  One man died for everyone.  That puts everyone in the same boat.  He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a life far better than people ever lived on their own. Because of his decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look……Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start and is created new.”  2 Corinthians 5:16, 17 - The Message

Younger Leaders Gathering
Three groups of people are making good progress on the Lausanne Younger Leaders Gathering which will take place in Malaysia in September 2006.  This includes the Program Team under the leadership of Paul Stanley, the Conference Director; the Participant Selection Team with members from each region of the world, being facilitated by Rick Sessoms; and the Operations Team under the leadership of Matthew Anderson.

  • Please pray for the Participant Selection Team as their work moves into high gear in this critical task of identifying and selecting the 500 younger leaders who will participate in this gathering.

Robyn Claydon, Senior Associate, Women in World Evangelisation

  • Praise God for the recent Young Women Leaders' Mentor night and the Young Christian Teachers' meeting in Sydney which Robyn organized as part of her role as Lausanne Senior Associate for Women.
  • Pray for the ministry of some of the young women in Robyn's Lausanne International Leadership Network: Eva Mrsic in Croatia, Evangeline Sita in India, Olga Zaprometova in Russia, Elke Werner in Germany and Xiaoli Yang in Australia. They are outstanding young women who are using their gifts in a variety of ministries and need the Lord's wisdom and strength to meet the challenges and opportunities that face them.

Joseph Vijayan, Senior Associate, Information Technology
Joseph reports, “We met as a Taskforce under the leadership of Larry Russell on August 15 to discuss matters relating to technology systems to assist LCWE, email lists and database.  We are making good progress and are divided into subcommittees to focus on specific items.  We will re-convene as a group on September 19 to present our findings to the entire group.”

  • Please be praying for God’s wisdom for development of “spirit-led” technology systems to assist the Lausanne movement.

Evangelisation of Children
