Cape Town 2010 Leadership TeamAdministration Committee
This committee will establish an administrative structure to support the entire Congress and all Congress Committees: budgeting, human resources, translation, printing. Arrangements Committee Mr. Graham Powers, South Africa, Chair This committee is responsible for the venue arrangements at the CTICC, security, exhibitions, stewards (volunteers), and catering. Communications Committee Mr. Steve Woodworth, USA, Chair This committee is responsible for all areas of communication: secular, Christian, print, electronic, public relations, advertising, design and logo. They are charged with communicating the vision, facts and message of Lausanne in general, as well as details of the Congress. Communications serves all Congress committees to ensure continuity of look, design, and message development. Fund-Raising Committee In Progress. This committee is responsible for establishing, leading and empowering an international fundraising team to raise the majority of the financial support needed for the Congress. Global Participation and Follow-up Committee Mr. Larry Russell, USA, Director This committee is charged with developing a distance-learning program. In the first instance this will utilize LCWE documents, selected ones being put into curricula for use with individual or groups in churches, seminaries, Bible colleges. This material will be available before, during and after the Congress to facilitate maximizing the wealth of materials available through the Lausanne Movement. The distance-learning program will also be making the necessary arrangements for the Congress to be available by the Internet during the Cape Town meetings themselves, thereby making it possible for people around the world to participate in an open-source format. Information Technology Committee Dr. Joseph Vijayam, India and USA, Chair This committee will advise, consult and provide all technology needs of the Congress, ranging from Lausanne’s global Internet presence to local computer operations. Intercessory Committee Rev. Sarah Plummer, Australia, Chair Mission Committee Dr. Michael Cassidy, South Africa, Chair This committee is responsible to set up evangelistic missions on the continent of Africa prior to the Congress, partnering international evangelists with African evangelists and various care/compassion ministries. They will work with local committees that will be responsible for preparing and running these missions, as well as setting in place a follow-up program connecting all those who respond to local churches. Participant Selection Committee Bishop Hwa Yung, Malaysia, Chair Participant Services Committee Dr. Esmé Bowers, South Africa, Chair This committee will be responsible for meeting the needs of the participants: registration, international travel, local transport, planning the Day Out Outreach during the Congress, booking accommodation, establishing selected participant scholarships, emergency care etc .
