Regional Focus this month in our prayers is EPSA
Africa
SATURDAY 1ST “Now to him who is able to
do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is
at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout
all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Eph 3:20 Pray for the Congress Team
as they have their last corporate planning meeting in Cape Town this month. Pray God will bring all
the details together. Pray that this meeting will bring much joy and delight to
our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Praise God for the wondrous gift , to live within
a witnessing community – Pray for the body of Christ in Angola today.
SUNDAY 2ND Praise God for the raising
up of strategic partnerships within the Lausanne Movement. Praise God for those
who are working together to serve the needs of the Congress so that the body of
Christ can become more effective in serving the world by demonstrating and
proclaiming Christ together. Praise God for the gift of loving relationships –
Pray for the body of Christ in Botswana
today.
MONDAY 3RD Praying for those close to us. Talking to God about our
family and friends and talking to our family and friends about God. Pray for
your family and friends who still do not know Christ as Lord and Saviour – Pray
for the body of Christ in Eritrea
today.
TUESDAY 4TH Praise God for the gift of His word. Praise God for those who
are gifted to teach His word in Bible/theological schools
in Africa. Ask God to continue to raise up
gifted theological teachers to deepen the faith of the body of Christ across the
world. Pray for the body of Christ in – Ethiopia today.
WEDNESDAY 5TH Praise God for the interpreters who will be
at the Congress. Pray for the remaining interpreters needed. Pray for the interpreters
as they contextualize the messages into other languages. May God be covering
every word interpreted to the praise of His glorious grace. Pray for the body
of Christ in Gambia
today.
THURSDAY 6TH Praise God for the
privilege of helping people move from
being unreached to participating in the great commission. Pray for more active
Christians involved in the process of discipling and encouraging others along
this life of faith in Christ. Pray for the Christian aid agencies that serve many
unreached communities with the love of Christ. – Pray for the body of Christ in
Ghana
today.
FRIDAY 7TH
The Cape Town 2010 Congress Director writes "We thank God for the
favourable response given to Cape Town 2010 by the Foreign Ministry to waive
visa fees and extend the period for visa applications." Praise God for this
great answer to our prayers. – Pray for the body of Christ in Kenya today
SATURDAY 8TH Pray for God’s unity throughout the program, that each session wouldn’t be a
separate entity. Ask God to give the Programme Team a unified spirit of
collaboration throughout everyone and everything in the preparation, that they
would be able to best help each other in places of need. Pray for the Information Technology that is supporting the
programme goals.- Pray for the body of Christ in Lesotho today.
SUNDAY 9TH
The
speakers and presenters have undertaken a huge task in researching topics on a
worldwide scale, and engaging with the Lausanne Global Conversation. In
addition to the online discussion at www.lausanne.org/conversation,
Christ has given gifts to his Church to share. As Christians across the world
share their insights into Scripture and mission, perhaps learned through trials
and suffering, please pray that the whole Church will be encouraged and better
equipped to share Christ in word and deed. Pray for new partnerships forged between
denominations and Christian groups – Pray for the body of Christ in Liberia today.
MONDAY 10TH The Lausanne Movement is all about sharing the
good news of Jesus Christ with those who are near and those who are far off.
Pray for your neighbors and/or
those in your street, that God would grant you an opportunity to share with
them in this coming year. – Pray for the
body of Christ in Malawi
today.
TUESDAY 11TH Pray for
those in the great task of Bible translation and Bible production. These many
Bible agencies are making the word of God accessible to every nation, ask God
to give them great discernment and wisdom as they complete this work. –Pray for
the body of Christ in Mayotte today.
WEDNESDAY 12TH Pray for those involved in the Global Children’s Forum
as they seek to reach, resource, disciple the next generation in their work of
the great commission. Pray for them as they lead a multiplex on children. Pray
for the family unit, for children and small groups to grow more like Christ – Pray
for the body of Christ in Mozambique
today.
THURSDAY 13TH Pray for those nations who experience high
levels of corruption and injustice. Ask God to raise up new leadership that
will be Agents of justice and peace – Pray for the body of Christ in Namibia today.
FRIDAY 14TH This
month the online Lausanne Global Conversation will move from being
English-language only to becoming multilingual. This is a significant step forward
in enabling the Body of Christ to talk together. Please pray for the team managing this process, and for many Christians around the world to
participate in the Conversation –Pray for the body of
Christ in Nigeria
today.
SATURDAY 15TH Pray for the millennium goals for mothers and
children. There is a huge need to enhance the health and well being for
children by creating a greater capacity of health services. Pray God will heighten
the awareness and need and resources from governments and medical
teams. Pray for the body of Christ in Morocco.
SUNDAY 16TH Recently, in
a non African country, nine Christian families (48 people in total) were forced
out of their village at gun point by the local authorities and the police. The
officials seized all the personal belongings of the Christians and scattered
them on the ground in an open field. 6 of the 11 homes were destroyed. The
Christians were told to renounce their faith in Christ but refused and so were
marched 6 kilometers out of the village and left by the side of the road. They
have been sleeping on the ground in the forest with no shelter. As they were
unable to bring their rice with them, they only have food that they can hunt
and gather in the forest. Pray for those who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ Jesus. – Pray for the body of Christ in St. Helena.
MONDAY 17TH The Second Lausanne Congress stirred the body of Christ to the reality of
Unreached people groups. The church responded and sent out many to the
unreached. We have new generations of unreached, pray this congress stirs the
hearts and minds of today’s church. – Pray for the body of Christ in Sierra Leone
today.
TUESDAY 18TH Billy
Graham, the American evangelist who founded The Lausanne Movement, coined the
phrase ‘the spirit of Lausanne’:
exemplified by prayer, study, partnership and hope – practiced in, we trust, an
attitude of humility. Please pray for the Congress preparations to be conducted
in this spirit. The Congress team is spread around the world and most meetings
are held via internet conferencing. Please pray for protection against
misunderstandings or anything else which can undermine our serving together,
‘maintaining the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace’. – Pray for the body of Christ in Somalia today
WEDNESDAY 19TH Pray for the Lausanne Movement Board as they make
crucial decisions for the sake of the whole church to take the whole gospel to
the whole world. – Pray for the body of Christ in Niger.
THURSDAY 20TH Pray for those who are in great poverty, today.
Pray for those orphaned by AIDS and natural disasters, those marginalised
because of mental illness. Pray God refreshes the global church to truly care and
be Christ’s hands and feet today– Pray for the body of Christ in South Africa
today.
FRIDAY 21ST Praise God for the great missionary movements we see in China, Philippines,
Mongolia, Korea and Latin America.
Pray as we meet and connect as a global body this enthusiasm and tenacity
impacts many of the Congress participants – Pray for the body of Christ in Swaziland
today.
SATURDAY 22ND Lausanne anticipates wide
interest in the Congress from the press and media. This month we look at the
first round of applications for onsite and offsite media credentialling. Please
pray for those handling these decisions so the Congress can reach into
countries effectively through radio, the press and television, as well as the
internet. Pray
for the media and film education in
EPSA Africa. May it be a tool God will redeem for his purposes- Pray for the

today.
SUNDAY 23RD Pray for a genuine readiness of the church for Christ’s
return – Pray for the body of Christ in Uganda today.
MONDAY 24TH Praise God, for his word is mightier than
anything the evil one seeks to destroy. This Spiritual battle is not against flesh and blood. Pray for
those trapped in world religions that
the good news of Jesus Christ can shared with clarity and enlightenment to his
truth. – Pray for the Body of Christ in Zambia today.
TUESDAY 25TH Pray for an out-pouring of God’s Spirit and spiritual renewal for
every participant on site in Cape Town and
linked via satellite.– Pray for the body of Christ in Zimbabwe today.
WEDNESDAY
26TH Pray the Church may be awakened to growth that creates continuous church planting in many frontiers and areas of their
communities.
THURSDAY 27TH Pray for a global Church that has
integrity and wise stewardship of the planet’s resources.
FRIDAY 28TH Each day the Congress
will open with an exposition from Ephesians. Please pray for these expositors who
