Five hundred years ago, in a day when the gospel was little understood within the church, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany, and thus began the Reformation—a movement that worked toward a rediscovery of the gospel for the people of God and for the world.

On this 500th anniversary year, the Lausanne Movement is convening an unprecedented group of 90 of the world’s most influential leaders in global mission. This significant gathering will meet from 12-14 June 2017 in Wittenberg, Germany, and will centre on accelerating and collaborating toward the accomplishment of a singular vision: the gospel for every person and an evangelical church for every people.

As an interactive gathering, there will be no plenary speakers, only table groups of four to seven, addressing 12 topics pre-selected by the participants themselves. The gathering will depend entirely on the Holy Spirit’s guidance as to what ideas, strategies, and potential partnerships may emerge. Prayer is essential for every Lausanne gathering, but for Wittenberg, it couldn’t be more foundational.

Would you considering coming alongside the leaders as they meet, calling upon God to lead, inspire, and reveal a renewed call to his church in taking the whole gospel to the whole world through the whole church?

If you would like to commit to praying for the gathering, please email Sarah Plummer ([email protected]), Chair of the Lausanne Intercession Working Group, for daily prayer updates.
