Tom Houston

Tom Houston was born in 1928. Beginning in 1951, he served as minister at Johnstone Baptist Church in Scotland, and then served as chaplain to Quarriers Homes (children’s home and epileptic colony) before being called to pastor the Nairobi Baptist Church in Kenya, of which he later became pastor emeritus.

From 1971 to 1983, he served as executive director of the British and Foreign Bible Society, and went on to become the president of World Vision International. In 1989, he was appointed international director and later, minister at large, of the Lausanne Movement (then called the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization). He lives in Oxford, England.
