Berit Helgøy Kloster is from Norway. Berit graduated from the University of Trondheim with a degree in theology, and then worked as a teacher of religions and Spanish. She has been promoting tentmaking for over 20 years, particularly in Latin America. She serves as an Ambassador-at-Large for Tentmakers International (TI) and as Catalyst for Tentmaking in the Lausanne Movement. Berit has also been supporting the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) in the Dominican Republic and working with Tent A/S Norway.
Berit is also involved in politics and is a lay preacher and member of the leadership of a regional church and mission. She has authored articles and booklets, and is involved in national radio programs.
She is married to Svein Erik, a surgeon and missionary to Ecuador and Bolivia; they have four children and four grandchildren.
