Emma Brewster Catalyst for International Student Ministries

South Africa

Emma Brewster is from the UK, moved to South Africa in 2009 and is living in Cape Town. Having trained in education and got her Masters in Theology and Contemporary Mission, she has a passion to work with students in our universities globally. She is serving with SIM International, Serving in Mission, as their Global Coordinator and Consultant for Engaging the Universities. In this role she is seeking to pioneer into university contexts where the church and parachurches are not yet reaching. She served with the IFES movements in the UK for 10 years with UCCF and for 5 years in South Africa with SCO, training and equipping students and staff alike in evangelism, mission, leadership and discipleship. During these years she has been reaching out to international students, pioneering international student ministries and envisioning the local Church to see their strategic role in this. Most recently this has involved seeking to pioneer international student ministry in the 3 main receiving countries in Africa: Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. She travels widely across Latin America, Asia and Africa engaging with those working and ministering in University contexts.
