Gladys K. Mwiti, PhD is a Consulting Clinical Psychologist, Founder and CEO Oasis Africa Center for Transformational Psychology & Trauma.
She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA; Masters degree in Christian Leadership from Fuller’s Graduate School of Theology; Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and Bachelors degree in Psychology both from the United States International University, Africa in Nairobi.
In 1990, together with her husband Dr. GershonMwiti, Leadership Consultant, she founded Oasis Africa, a pan-African professional organization that is shaping counseling and psychology in Africa. They also have an active training program in applied transformational psychology and applied leadership for organizations, companies and churches.
She is the current Chairperson of the Kenya Psychological Association (KPA); Interim Chairperson of the Kenya Society for Traumatic Stress Studies; member of the Board of Trustees for the Kenya Methodist University (KEMU); member of the American Psychological Association (APA); Member of the Board of Directors for the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS); Catalyst for Lausanne Congress for World Evangelization Mental Health and Trauma desk; and Chair of Council, Cooperative University College on Kenya. Dr. Mwiti has received several International Awards, the latest being Feb 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award by Fuller Seminary’s Graduate School of Psychology. She is married to Dr. Gershon Mwiti, Leadership Consultant, CEO and Founder, Leadership Institute of Kenya (LIKA). They have four young adult children.
