Many of us in evangelical churches draw sharp lines to indicate who’s in and who’s out. We assume that our expression of the greater Christian tradition embodies ‘the whole church’. Yet Christ spent much of his time dismantling such doctrinal divides. How can we follow Christ to find common ground, hinging together the disparate parts of the church universal into one community based on love? How can we truly be the whole church?
