An Urban Perspective

Cities are growing everywhere, from New York City to the slums, and are filled with tremendous opportunity for ministry. The church needs to be trained to reach urban people. Speakers Mac Pier, Corrie DeBoer, and Atul Aghamkar urge the church not to fall behind.

Mac Pier is president and founder of the New York City Leadership Center, Corrie DeBoer is president of Maharlikang Pinoy Manpower Agency, and Atul Aghamkar is head of the missiology department at South Asia Institute of Advanced Christian Studies.

This presentation was given at the Lausanne Global Leadership Forum in Bangalore, India, from 17-21 June 2013.

Mac Pier is the founder of Movement.Org. He was instrumental in creating the Movement Day conference, which has convened 40,000 leaders from 400 cities. Mac is also the co-catalyst for cities with the Lausanne Movement. He has written numerous books including A Disruptive Gospel and A Disruptive God. He and his wife Marya have three children and five grandchildren.
