Lausanne Global Classroom: North Korea

Episode Overview

This Classroom episode is on North Korea and is done in partnership with the Lausanne North Korea Committee. North Korea often makes headlines these days for its human rights abuses, nuclear proliferation, and persecution of Christians. The news tends to portray the North as an ‘Axis of Evil’, but there is much more to this country and the divided Korean peninsula. The church is alive and well in North Korea, but hidden, impoverished, and persecuted. The prayer for many years has been for reunification of the two Koreas. What would this look like, and what would it mean for the Korean church, and the global church? The Lausanne North Korea Committee convened a gathering in Seoul in November of 2018, bringing together key global leaders in business, development, education, and humanitarian aid with experience inside North Korea to share what God is doing through Christ’s body. This Global Classroom was filmed at that gathering. The goal of this episode is to inform the global church about North Korea so that leaders, churches, organizations, and movements will be inspired and motivated to engage in prayer and ministry to North Korea.
