Jurie Kriel is innovating the 5twelve City Church plant in Austin, Texas, reaching a 90% unchurched urban core by reimagining church for the next generation. He also leads a global initiative with Movement.org called the NXT Move, which gathers the next generation of gospel city movement leaders from around the world to catalyze a global turnaround in reaching the next generation. NXT Move utilizes urbanization as an opportunity for the gospel, ultimately adding momentum to a movement that will see global cities flourish spiritually and socially.
Leadership development is key to Jurie’s calling and life mission. Before his time with Movement.org, he was a pastor at First Love Church in Wellington, Cape Town, going on to cofound and lead a Bible school called The Timothy Leadership Team. He then joined the Doxa Deo leadership in South Africa while also leading a megachurch in Pretoria, overseeing several other churches, and being closely involved in an urban church plant.
Jurie is originally from South Africa and is now based in Austin, Texas.
